Having my cup o' coffee feeling Great this morning. Sabres lost and we are one game closer to Eichel! Nice stats Pachs; Eichel is better then Toews. I can dig that!

"So, why risk losing ground to Arizona and Buffalo, who play head to head on 3/26 in Buffalo and again on 3/30 in Arizona?"

Unbelievable.

IF we lose out on Eichel, it will just become another part of Buffalo sports lore. "wide right, no goal, botched up getting McEichel".

Perhaps Garth because we didn't intentionally tank this year. Maybe, just maybe we pooped the bed.
And as to why Hall is coming back in. Because we want to (frank)ing win. Enough losing, enough draft picks. (frank) it. Win the rest of the games this season if you can and start next season with a winning streak and some dignity.

this.

just use your head. why are so many people unable to think bigger picture?
instead its always just "well since this happened, the easiest conclusion must be the correct one"
simple cause and effect right?.............no

its not an indictment of trying to get a high pick. management has done that in the past for us, just as theiyre doing for you.
but its never been a tank attempt this year. a lot of sh1t went wrong, and we're still waiting on development of nurse, klefbom etc. and we still have a some holes (but certainly less!) from rebuilding with nothing.

even the perron move that some point to is clueless.
he wanted out, wasn't playing well anyway and we got a first rounder and a physical 4th liner that's been great for us. and we resigned the guy.
and we actually have more points without perron than with

and even aside from all that, just watch the oilers play before you write about them.

Edmonton, despite their results, are way WAY better than both Buffalo and Arizona. Edmonton competes and have lost plenty of 1 goal games against respectable teams. I think at this point Arizona is a favorite to be last. Their schedule is much harder than ours (Buffalo's) and the Sabres will inevitably pickup some points whereas I'm not sure Arizona will.

this. if oiler fans are arguing against tanking, you know they really believe it.

its a lot of factors, and I think the wheels came off and we're in a much worse position than we should be, but that's neither here nor there. we aint a great team.
and essentially we're saying; "no, we're not trying to be bad. we just are bad"

in many ways that's worse!
